Smoking will be banned at Germany's famous annual festival Oktoberfest following a public vote.
Lighting up will now be prohibited from 1 August in all Bavarian restaurants, bars, cafes and beer tents.
Although voter turnout out was low at 37.7%, 61% of those casting votes supported a total smoking ban in the state of Bavaria.
A blanket smoking ban was introduced in Germany in early 2008 but was later changed to allow restaurants and bars in some states to have one room set aside for smoking.
It also allowed in beer tents and in one-room venues of up to 75-square-metres but Bavaria has now plumped for a total smoking ban.
