Hosts with the smartest customers could win £10k to spend on their business, thanks to Pilsner Urquell.

Hosts with the smartest customers could win £10k, thanks to Pilsner Urquell.

The Czech beer brand is challenging pub customers to answer a Take the Czech Challenge puzzle card to solve, devised for the brand by British Mensa.

Correct answers will be rewarded with half a pint of Pilsner Urquell and then entered into a prize draw to win a trip to Prague and a visit to the brewery in Pilsen. and will count towards the pub's score.

The competition will run throughout the year and in February the 10 pubs with the biggest number of brainy customers get to fly to Pilsen and tell brewery executives at headquarters how their businesses would spend the prize money if they won.

"The Take the Czech Challenge activity is truly engaging; bringing together consumers, licensees and Pilsner Urquell," said brand ambassador Simon Clarke.

"One of our customers has seen an incredible sales improvement of up to 72% on Pilsner Urquell but, more importantly a 16% increase on general trade during quiet periods, showing that this activity is contributing in a positive way to our customers.
