More tenants are satisfied than dissatisfied with their pubco, but more than one in three remain unhappy with them.
That's according to a survey of 500 tenants from five major pubcos — Admiral, Greene King, Marston's, Punch and Scottish & Newcastle — by trade consultancy him!
The Tenant Track survey found 32% are satisfied, and 14% very satisfied, with their pubco. But 21% are dissatisfied and one in seven — 15% — are very dissatisfied (17% were neither).
When asked if they were satisfied with the fees charged by their pubco, there was an even split.
Forty per cent were either satisfied (33%) or very satisfied (7%), while 41% were either dissatisfied (25%) or very dissatisfied (16%) — 20% were neither. Tenants were asked which areas pubcos could improve. The most popular response was fees — 21% agreed with this.
Other popular responses include support (16%), communication (15%), promotional material (13%), choice of drinks under the tie (10%) and the quality of business development managers (7%).
