A West Yorkshire pub will host a live Racing UK outside broadcast next week after winning the John Smith's Tipping Game.
The Junction Inn in Huddersfield won the Cup Day at York last month and on 11 August presenters Angus McNae and Dave Nevison will broadcast live from the pub.
Licensee Chris Beaumont has also won a 40" LCD screen, John Smith's PoS material and free betting vouchers for all his customers.
"It's a wonderful thrill to be staging the first Racing UK programme to be broadcast from a pub or club," he said. "We're especially looking forward to welcoming Angus McNae and Dave Nevison, who have a real following among our locals.
"We're naturally expecting a packed pub and the place has been buzzing in anticipation of the day. Pubs offer a fantastic community spirit, and events like this provide a strong connection between the pub, locals, Racing UK viewers and Racing UK itself."
John Smith's senior brand manager Gareth Turner said: "It was fantastic that so many pubs and clubs took part in the tipping competition on John Smith's Cup day at York. After over half a century sponsoring the race, it seems to be as popular as ever."
The broadcast will be free to air from 6pm to 9pm, which means anyone with a Sky subscription can watch it at no added cost.
