Mackey leaves Global Brands
Global Brands managing director Derek Mackey has left the company, the Morning Advertiser has learnt.
Mackey took over as managing director at the Vodka Kick producer around a year ago after previously working as sales director.
Prior to joining Global Brands, Mackey worked as sales controller for on-premise at Heineken.
Under Mackey, Global acquired premium drinks agency Inspirit Brands, adding to its stable of premium spirit brands.
Global Brands manages a diverse range of brands across the wine, spirits, RTD, beer and soft drinks categories, including VK, Corky's, Kick Energy and Adoro Wine from South Africa.
The company launched its flagship brand VK Vodka Kick in 1999 - it is now available in over 30 countries worldwide.
Global Brands, formerly GBL International, was founded in 1997 by Steve Perez and it now turns over almost £70m per annum. It is understood that no replacement for Mackey is as yet in position.
