A Bristol barman has been crowned Pilsner Urquell's UK Master Bartender of the Year - and will now get to compete on a world stage.

Chris Bailey, of the Mall, will join 18 other bartenders from across the globe to represent the UK and compete for the title of Pilsner Urquell International Master Bartender of the Year and prize money of €10,000.

The bartenders will face a series of tests and interviews, including the perfect pour and presentation, in Pilsen, in the Czech Republic.

Chris will also be joined by Wozz Oliphant, licensee of the Mall - the first time a licensee has been invited along with their winning bartender.

Gillian Loudon from Miller Brands said of the UK competition: "The standards were exceptionally high and it's great to see so much passion and professionalism in our industry."
