David Cameron made good on his pledge to celebrate British Pub Week — by visiting the Bernard Arms in Great Kimble, Buckinghamshire.

The Prime Minister visited the Bernard Arms along with Europe Minister and local MP David Lidington for a pint of real ale at the pub, which is close to the PM's country retreat Chequers.

At Prime Minister's question last week, Cameron said: "I'm a big supporter of British pubs. I want us to be a pub-friendly Government."

Cameron appointed Bob Neill as Community Pubs Minister two weeks ago.

British Pub Week came to a close on Saturday, after a week full of events in a bid to get people back into the pub and raise the issue of the plight of the pub.
