Pub wins 50k worth of business advice
A licensee has won £50,000 worth of business support in a small business competition in East Anglia.
The Rose & Crown in Great Horkesley, Colchester, was picked as the most promising start up business for the PR consultancy Voice Communications' award.
Edward Halls, who runs the Greene King pub, said: "It is wonderful to have won. I am so pleased. A prize of this kind can make a huge difference to a small business such as this."
The support will include leadership and coaching, financial management as well as PR and marketing expertise.
Simon Longbottom, managing director for Greene King leased and tenanted pub division, said: "Edward has transformed the pub since he took over in March. He's an inspiration to other young business people who want to make it in the pub and hospitality sector."
