Royal British legion calls on pubs to help raise £1m

The Royal British Legion is asking pubs to celebrate its 90th anniversary and help raise money with a party weekend.
The charity is holding The Great Poppy Party Weekend between 10 and 12 June, and is looking to raise £1m from sales and sponsored activities.
All pubs need to do is register their interest online at www.thegreatpoppypartyweekend.org.uk and download sponsorship forms.
Licensees can buy party packs for £10.99, of which £5 will be donated to the charity.
The Legion is also running a competition for the most unusual party location, with a £1,000 award.
National coordinator Bruno Peek said: "I see pubs as the heart of the community, I'm a great believer in that. This is a great opportunity to get people together to celebrate the 90 years and help the charity.
"Pubs have got lots of time to plan the event, a friend of mine is hosting a sponsored walk and everyone might try to get 10 or 15p a mile."
