A licensee is celebrating after his pub became the only one in the area to win a prestigious AA Rosette for outstanding food.

Greene King owned pub the Cadogan Arms in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, is run by multiple operator David Marjoram who has two other pubs in the area.

He said: "I felt there was a real gap in the market at the quality end for families and I'm hoping the award will increase awareness of our excellent food offering we have worked so hard to achieve. I have an outstanding team that deliver food prepared to a level not usually found in a pub."

Of all pubs and restaurants only around one in 10 have reached the standard of having one AA rosette or more.

Stephen Jones, AA Hotel and Restaurant Inspector said: "The Cadogan offers good quality locally sourced food in a stylish and relaxed environment and the team there obviously pay care and attention to the end product."
