Pub teams up with church to remarry couples

A Chiswick pub has teamed up with a local vicar to remarry couples to commemorate the Royal Wedding.
The Tabard Taylor Walker will be rebranded as the LOVE PUB for a week. It is encouraging as many couples as possible to renew their wedding vows at St Michaels Church to mark the royal occasion on April 29.
Couples will then bne invited to go back to the pub to collect their certificate where they can then enjoy a reception of traditional cucumber sandwiches and cream teas.
Tim Rider, general manager, said: "The pub and the church are at the heart of the community so we felt this was a great way to get everyone in the spirit. We share our guests so we thought why not share the love?
"With the Royal wedding coming up, everyone is feeling loved up. So far we have 30 people signed up and we hope to get at least 200 renewing their vows."
Father Kevin at St Michaels church has contacted every person ever married at the church and has even pledged to renew his own vows with his wife.
The Tabard is owned by Punch Pub Company, the managed division of Punch Taverns.
