The deadline for entries to the Publican's Morning Advertiser's Great British Pub Awards 2011 has been extended to 27 May.

The deadline for entries to the Publican's Morning Advertiser's Great British Pub Awards 2011 has been extended.

The closing date for entries is now 27 May. There are 16 categories for licensees to enter including two new to this year's awards — Best Smoking Area and Best Sports Pub.

Other categories include Best Entertainment Pub, Best Food Pub, Best Community Pub, Best Tenanted/Leased Pub and Best Cask Ale Pub.

All finalists will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony in London on Thursday 8 September.

Winning a Great British Pub Award is a great way to drive extra trade to your business.

2010 winner Brad Atherton, licensee of the Kings Arms in St Just, Cornwall, said:"It's amazing how much publicity winning the award has generated — we reckon we've had at least £40,000-worth of free advertising."
