Licensees are being invited to attend an event in the House of Commons to lobby MPs for a review of the smoking ban.

MPs from the three main political parties have joined forces to support a campaign to amend the smoking ban.

Greg Knight, Conservative MP for East Yorkshire, Roger Godsiff, Labour MP for Birmingham Hall Green, and John Hemming, Liberal Democrat for Birmingham Yardley will host a reception for the Save Our Pubs & Clubs campaign in the Commons on 29 June between 4pm and 6pm.

The campaign is a coalition of groups and individuals who believe that the smoking ban is excessive.

Simon Clark, director of Save Our Pubs & Clubs, said: "Looking at the dramatic acceleration in pub closures since the introduction of smoking bans in England, Scotland and Wales, it is hard to deny that the ban has been a huge factor in the closure of many pubs.

"This is your chance to tell your MP, face to face, how the legislation has affected your pub and see what he can do to help.

"We want as many licensees as possible to attend but places are limited, so you must register in advance."
