Etridge buys back the Ebury gastropub

Entrepreneur Tom Etridge has bought back the Ebury in London's Pimlico, nearly four and a half years after he sold the gastropub to the First Restaurant Group (FRG).

The Ebury was part of a three-strong estate of gastropubs, which also included the Waterway in Maida Vale, and the Running Horse in Mayfair, that FRG, the company co-owned and founded by Carlo Spetale and Harold Tillman, acquired from Etridge at the end of 2006, in a deal reportedly worth close to £3m.

M&C Report understands that Etridge is already looking at further acquisition opportunities as he looks to grow another portfolio of high quality, food-led operations.

The First Restaurant Group, which is run by Tillman's son Mitchell, currently operates nine further restaurants and bars in the capital, including two under the Harry Morgan's brand and the Notting Hill Brasserie.

It also operates two Harry Morgan's in Latvia, with a third site due to open in the country soon. A first site under the brand is also set to launch in Istanbul.
