Punch Taverns is urging all its licensees to take advantage of its annual series of nation-wide business building roadshows.

The 11 events, which tour around the country, kick off in October and are designed to offer valuable business tips, top deals from business suppliers, as well as support and advice.

Licensees will also have the chance to take home a range of point-of-sale material from brand owners, benefit from food and drink demonstrations, see mystery sporting stars and be in with a chance of winning £1,000 worth of beer.

One lucky licensee also has the chance to win a £5,000 holiday to Mexico. The BII will also be in attendance to provide free advice to partners as will Punch team members from the recruitment, food, telesales, training, marketing, design and print and regional operations teams.

The roadshows are also an opportunity for business people thinking about leasing a pub to talk to Punch representatives.

Last year, 45% of its 5,000-strong estate attended the roadshows and Punch is hoping to increase this number for 2011 — the eighth year of the roadshows.

Punch buying club director Andy Slee said: “We’ve designed the roadshows so they are literally a one-stop shop.

"Whether partners want to introduce a new cask beer or wine range, trial some new food or snack options, install the latest leisure machines, trial some new spirits or soft drinks, or create a smoking solution, it’s all there under one roof.

“We fully appreciate that it’s a big ask for partners to spend a whole day away from their pubs, but the feedback we receive suggests that the exercise absolutely adds value, as 97% of partners say they’d go to one of our roadshows again.

“I encourage all of our partners, as well as prospective licensees, to get along to their nearest event and to go with an open mind to see how they can get the most from them for their pub businesses.”
