500 MPs on Enterprise’s ‘work a shift’ list

The initiative, launched by the head of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group, Burton MP Andrew Griffiths, and backed by the
Publican’s Morning Advertiser, urged MPs to support the trade by getting behind the bar.
So far, Alison McGovern, MP for Wirral South, has worked behind the bar in the Hooton Arms, Eastham; Ben Gummer, MP for Ipswich, has worked behind the bar at the Kingfisher, Ipswich; and Norman Baker, MP for Lewes, has worked behind the bar at Elephant & Castle, Lewes. Alun Cairns, MP for Vale of Glamorgan, has pledged to work at the Horse & Groom, in Crowbridge on 4 November and Andrew Stephenson, MP for Pendle, is to visit the George & Dragon in Barrow Ford, Nelson, and Four Alls in Burnley at the end of October. Stephenson has already worked a stint in the Timothy Taylor-owned White Swan in Fence, Lancashire.
In addition, a number of MPs said they would like to visit pubs and have requested a list of Enterprise pubs in their constituency so that a meeting can be set up in the future.
