PM pays surprise visit to Blackpool pub
Cameron and his team stopped for lunch at Marston’s Two For One pub the Bell and Bottle in Kirkham and told manager Emma Bell they enjoyed their meal when leaving.
Bell said: “We couldn’t believe it when the Prime Minister and about 16 staff walked in and ordered lunch. It was a very pleasant surprise and he was such a lovely chap.
“We felt it was wonderful that he chose our pub to come and have lunch. It was a lot to take in but all our staff were thrilled and it made us all feel really special.”
She added: “He said his meal was excellent value for money and that he really enjoyed it. I was so delighted. What a way to start 2012!”
The Prime Minister enjoyed a chicken and bacon salad for lunch, washed down by a lime and soda.
