Living Ventures' Alchemist concept set to expand

Living Ventures, the restaurant and bar company led by Tim Bacon and based in the north-west, plans to grow its Alchemist concept to up to 15 sites over the next five years, M&C Report has learnt.

The group opened the original site under the ‘cocktail bar with full service restaurant’ concept in Manchester’s Spinningfields at the end of 2010. It plans to invest £1m in the next 12 months on a further site in Manchester in June, and a unit at the Trinity development in Leeds next April.

He group is also in is negotiating on sites in Liverpool, Birmingham and a third in Manchester for the brand.
Bacon said the Leeds site, which will be housed in a shopping centre, would be of particular interest for the group, and if successful would open up further routes for a rollout.

He also told said  that the group had signed on its third and fourth sites of its new pub venture, the
Oast House, in Liverpool and Greater Manchester.
