Employers urged to bring employees to Hospitality Summit for free
The Summit – organised by BII, the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers and the British Beer and Pub Association – will host a unique session for young people interested in a career in the industry.
The session, which is relevant to both existing employees and job seekers, has been specially created to complement the first ‘National Licensed Hospitality Industry Apprenticeship Summit’ agenda which is designed for employers.
The sessions, which will run at 11.30am and again at 1.30pm, allow attendees to dip-in and out of the main ‘National Licensed Hospitality Industry Apprenticeship Summit’, while enjoying time to speak to other apprentices, training experts and find out more about developing a career in the licensed hospitality sector.
BII chief executive Peter Thomas said: “We shouldn’t underestimate the positive effects that inviting a young, star employee to a special event like this will have on them and the wider team in a pub business.
“This event will focus on what’s really great about working in the licensed hospitality trade and enthuse young people to want to develop a career within our sector.
“Recruiting, training and retaining the very best people in our industry is vital if we are to survive and thrive as a sector. We need to enthuse youngsters about how exciting and rewarding a career in the pub sector can be, and this event will do that. We imagine that they will return to their respective businesses buzzing with excitement, sending out a positive message to their colleagues and customers alike.”
Tickets to attend the ‘National Licensed Hospitality Industry Apprenticeship Summit’ cost £50 for members of the BII or £70 for non-members. Up to two would-be apprentices go free.
