Former culture secretary Jeremy Hunt is to take over the top job as health secretary while rumours are circulating that Community Pubs Minister Bob Neill is to return to the backbenches.

Hunt replaces Andrew Lansley, an opposer to minimum pricing on alcohol, who is to be leader of the House of Commons.

Rumours are circulating that Bob Neill, community pubs minister, has lost his position in the Government, although no details are currently available on his replacement. Neill reports into the Department for Communities and Local Government headed up by Secretary of State Eric Pickles.

Norman Lamb, the parliamentary under secretary of state for employment relations, consumer and postal affairs, with responsibility for the self-regulation agreement over the pubco-tenant relationship, has moved to the position as care services minister. He is replaced by Jo Swinson, who is a Scottish Liberal Democrat MP.

Maria Miller, Conservative MP for Basingstoke, is the new Culture Secretary and will take over the women and equalities portfolio, which was held by Liberal Democrats Lynne Featherstone at the Home Office.

George Osborne is to remain as Chancellor and Theresa May is to stay as Home Secretary.

More junior ministerial roles within Government departments have yet to be confirmed.
