Brakspear has become the latest tenanted pubco to make moves into the managed sector.

The company is converting an existing tenanted pub, the Bull Inn at Henley-on-Thames, Berkshire, to managed and will re-open it next month.

Last September, Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies told M&C Report: “We are constantly looking at our business model. We could set up a good managed business with some of our sites that  ave a strong food-led offer.”

The news follows recent moves into the managed sector from tenanted operators including Batemans Brewery, Tadcaster Pub Company and Hook Norton; the latter firm reverted the Coach & Horses in Banbury back to a tenanted house late last year, preferring to concentrate its efforts on that model for the time being.
