Magnificent seven in VisitEngland Awards 2013

Seven pubs have been shortlisted as finalists in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2013.

Five have been shortlisted in the Tourism Pub of the Year award.

The Drunken Duck Inn, Ambleside, Cumbria,; the Rashleigh Arms St Austell, Cornwall; the Feathered Nest Country Inn, Nether Westcote, Oxfordshire; the Millstone at Mellor, Blackburn, Lancashire and the Yew Tree Inn, Tarporley, Cheshire have all been shortlisted for the award, which is sponsored by the British Beer & Pub Association.

Nelson Hotels Bear's Paw in Sandbach, Cheshire has been shortlisted as one of five finalists in the Guest Accommodation of the Year category. Freehold the Redwell Inn & Smokehouse in Arkholme, Lancashire, is a finalist in Taste of England Award.

The winners will be announced on 20 May at an awards ceremony at Lancashire County Cricket Club, Manchester.

All finalists are guaranteed to receive either a gold, silver, bronze of highly commended award.
