Thwaites unveils 2013 Awards for Excellence winners
John and Sue Hughes of the Albion in Arnside added the latest ‘Pub of the Year’ title to the Best Customer Service awards they scooped in both 2011 and 2012 at the prestigious ceremony, held at the Cottons Hotel in Knutsford yesterday.
The craft brewer said the awards, which celebrate achievement in hospitality, innovation and customer offering, had received an unprecedented numbers of entries.
Sue and Grahame Nutt of Jacobs Well, Huddersfield enjoyed success in two categories scooping the Best Turnaround and Best Customer Experience accolades.
Other winners included:

- Eric Coupey & Maree Phillipson, Gamecock, Austwick, Best Pub Dining
- Kieran Johnson & Phil Barlow, Swan and Cemetery, Bury, Best Pub Fayre
- Chris &Christine McClung, Black Bull, Bury, Best Pint
- Lindsay Bowler, Cock and Bottle, Tarleton, Best What’s On.
In addition to the accolades, winners were each presented with a 5-star VIP break.
