“New”, McCartney’s first studio album of original material in six years, will be played in more than 208 pubs the day before the album’s official release on Monday 14 October. Special collectable Paul McCartney beer mats have also been created for the occasion.
McCartney’s record label EMI organised the launch, designed for customers to listen to the album while enjoying their Sunday lunches.
McCartney said: “I really enjoyed making this album. It's always great to get a chance to get into the studio with a bunch of new songs and I was lucky to work with some very cool producers. We had a lot of fun.”
