Carlsberg UK has attracted over 1,000 free-trade customers to its Christmas trade shows.

The festive roadshows, which provide an opportunity for licensees to speak to suppliers they do not normally deal with directly, gain specialist knowledge and place orders for new stock ahead of Christmas, took place over three weeks in October.

According to Carlsberg UK, over 50 on-trade drinks and service suppliers attended this year including: Diageo, Bacardi, Britvic, Monster, Kopparberg, Accolade, Concha Y Toro, CPL Training, Cask Marque and a number of partner regional brewers. A Let There Be Beer food matching stand also illustrated the flexibility of beer and its potential for matching with a pub or bar food menu to help drive trade.

Paul Waller, customer service & third party brands director at Carlsberg UK, said: “We’re the only national brewer operating our own trade shows and bringing out customers together to speak directly with our own suppliers.  It means our customers get the best possible deals ahead of Christmas and New Year trading, plus news, tips and expert industry knowledge. Feedback on this year’s shows has been excellent and we hope that they demonstrate our on-going commitment to supporting the on-trade.”

The shows visited: Villa Park (Birmingham), Passenger Shed (Bristol), Concorde Conference Centre (Manchester), Twickenham Stadium (London) and Royal Armouries (Leeds).
