The National Pubwatch conference 2014 is boasting two breakout sessions on how to deal with violence in licensed premises.

The conference has a series of top line speakers including Association of Chief Police Officers licensing lead chief constable Adrian Lee.

The conference, which is being held at the Palace Hotel, Manchester on 18 February 2014, is headlined ‘Protect and promote your Pubwatch through partnership working’.

Legal challenges

The breakout sessions will include contributions from Greater Manchester Police on Pubwatch has assisted in reducing violence in licensed premises and will also look at how to deal with legal challenges to Pubwatches.

The second session will look at the Hereford's Pubwatch diversion scheme, with insights from the Home Office on Local Alcohol Action Areas and the Portman Group on responsible retailing of alcohol.

Also speaking will be Sir Peter Fahy, chief constable of Greater Manchester Police and Mark Baird, head of industry affairs and alcohol policy at Diageo.
