Waitrose Good Food Guide awards open for nominations

The public are encouraged to nominate their favourite local dining establishments across 10 UK regions. The criteria for nomination are that venues should be independently run and offer regional or local produce where possible.
Regional winners will be announced based on the nominations before Good Food Guide judges declare the overall Readers’ Restaurant of the Year 2015.
'Triumph'
"It’s such a triumph for a restaurant to win one of our regional Reader Restaurant of the Year awards, for they are nominated by their own customers," said consultant editor Elizabeth Carter.
"These awards give our Good Food Guide readers the opportunity to bring their favourite restaurants to our attention. I think it’s a fantastic way to highlight the wonderful and varied restaurants, pubs and cafés we have around the country."
As well as providing a way for people to recognise their favourite restaurants, the awards provide a boost to the businesses who win with restaurants reporting uplifts in bookings, takings and staff morale.
More than 39,000 nominations were received last year with Delifonseca in Liverpool taking top spot.
Entry details
To take part in the awards, pubs and restaurants can encourage diners to nominate them online or by making postcards available during the nomination period, which is 3 March to 12 May.
The 10 regional winners will be announced at the end of June with the overall winner crowned in September.
