Young's pub to host customer bake off
Following the craze for baking encouraged by popular BBC programme the Great British Bake Off, entrants will showcase their skills in the kitchen to win the title of Best Baker in Barnes.
It will be judged by Young’s executive chef Chris Knights, the White Hart’s head chef Martin Wright and area manager Mark Loughborough.
The competition will start at 10am with the winner announced on the day.
It is the latest in a craze for pub-hosted competitions with predecessors including the Scotch Egg Challenge at Young's the Ship in Wandsworth, south-west London; the Great Sausage Roll Off at Fuller's the Red Lion in Barnes, Surrey; and last night's inaugural Pork Pie Off at the Princess Victoria in Shepherd's Bush, West London.
