Camerons marks beer duty cut with pints penny promo
Camerons, the Hartlepool-based brewer and pub operator, is giving customers 1p ‘cash back’ for every pint sold to mark the penny cut in beer duty announced in the Budget.

Customers can chose to take the penny or give it to the charity WaterAid. The promotion will run across the company’s 12 managed pubs.

Camerons pub estates & operations director Joe Smith said: “Following the cut in beer duty as announced by the Chancellor it is only right that this saving was passed on to our customers.

“It is difficult to change price points in our pubs for the reduction of 1p so we came up with the solution of offering customers the opportunity to take their 1p saving or donate it to the WaterAid charity which Camerons supports.

"In addition we are matching every penny we receive from our customers with a penny of our own so we will raise some much needed funds to this fantastic charity”.

Chris Wainwright, head of communications for WaterAid, said: “We’re delighted that Camerons pubs are offering their customers the chance to do something good whilst enjoying a pint.

“Today there are over 768 million people without access to safe, clean water, a human tragedy that results in the needless deaths of over of 2,000 children each day. Even a small amount of money can make a huge difference, so every pint really does count.

“We hope customers in Camerons pubs will raise a glass and help change lives by donating those pennies. That is something we can all drink to.”
