Camerons has identified more sites with the potential to be converted to The Head of Steam (THoS) concept, but is not planning “loads” of conversions to the format

The brewer and pub operator, based in Hartlepool, County Durham, reopens its managed pub Aspire in Tynemouth, Tyne and Wear, as The Head of Steam on Friday.

It follows the company’s acquisition of the seven-strong Head of Steam group in December.

A Camerons spokesman said: “At this current stage we have identified only a few sites that have the potential to be converted to the THoS concept. It is a very successful brand and we have to weigh up a lot of factors when looking at potential sites.

“We do not want to devalue this great pub group by opening loads of THoS sites and at this stage we have looked only at the Tynemouth site.”

Camerons will also offer its tenants a selection of cask ales from local and national UK brewers as well as craft world beers under a project named ‘10 Green Bottles’.

The spokesman added: “We are starting to introduce a more diverse range of cask and world beers into our managed pubs and tenanted estate.”
