Star of US TV's Storage Hunters takes up Hobgoblin's ale challenge

The brewery’s Hobgoblin brand is promoted with the slogan, “Afraid you might taste something lagerboy?” and so the team was prompted into action when they saw McClure tweet that he was looking forward to trying lager during a planned visit to the UK this month.
“We quickly pointed out that if he wanted a proper ale experience then we should come and join us at Wychwood, home of our legendary beers including Hobgoblin,” said marketing manager Chris Keating.
“He loved the idea and we’re delighted to be opening our doors to him.”
The brewery will be running a competition on Twitter and Facebook to offer fans the chance to meet McClure during his visit to the Oxfordshire brewery.
Beer fan
McClure has built up a cult base of fans in the UK thanks to his role on US series Storage Hunters, which airs on TV channel Dave.
The reality TV show focuses on life at the auctions and McClure, who has been in the auction business since he was a child, is one of the main characters.
"As a huge ale fan, I really look forward to seeing one of the greatest beers I've ever tried being made," he said.
Earlier this year the brewery welcomed rockers Status Quo to make their own beer, Piledriver.
