Pub suppliers win at frozen food awards

Several pub suppliers have had products recognised in the British Frozen Food Federation Awards.

The awards are judged by members of the Craft Guild of Chefs.

Brakes won three awards; two bronze awards – one for its cooked pork belly bites in the Best New Starter/Buffet/Appetiser category and the other for its pulled beef chilli in the Best New Main Course/Meal Centre Product category. Gold was award for its iced Victorian fruit cake in the Best New Bakery/Pastry category.

Other winners were the Authentic Food Company, who picked up gold in the Best New Starter/Buffet/Appetiser category for its butternut squash pakoras and Bar Foods, who won bronze in the Best New Accompaniment/Potato/Vegetable category for its cowboy BBQ beans.

KK Fine Foods picked four awards, including a gold for its JD Wetherspoon beef and pancetta lasagne in the Best New Main Course/Meal Centre Product category.

Oliver James Foods won four awards, including a gold for its Barton & White orange liqueur bread and butter pudding in the Best New Dessert/Confectionery.
