London pub opens with seafood restaurant
The riverside pub, which is now owned by Greene King’s Metropolitan Pub Company, will source seafood from Billingsgate Fish Market in east London.
The seafood restaurant will be run by head chef Pat Lynch and will feature a Chef’s Table which will seat eight people next to the venue’s open kitchen.
Ingredients will be locally sourced and menu highlights include the whole soft shell ‘crabacado’ burger with den miso mayo (£14.50) and the shintail pie with bone marrow and summer greens (£14.50).
Customers can also choose from a large shell and fish menu featuring Japanese cured salmon with ginger, mirin and radish coriander (£7.50/£14.00) and pan fried tranche of halibut with hollandaise, lemon spinach and Jersey royals (£26.50).
The 14th century building will also house a Victorian era bar offering a menu of pub classics as well as a selection of meats, cheeses and breads and a selection of locally sourced ales and lagers will rotate regularly.
