This follows strong sales growth at the eight-strong company’s first new-look Chicago Rock Café in Yeovil, Somerset. The company plans to introduce the new format into sites in Stevenage, Herts, and Basildon, Essex, probably after Christmas. It is also targeting expansion.
Chicago Leisure chief executive Christian Rose told the PMA's sister title M&C Report: “Following some expressions of interest in Chicago Leisure we understand that Sun Capital is exploring a number of options and wants to decide on the best way forward for the business.”
Speaking to M&C Report in January, Rose said sales had grown by more than 60% at the new-look Chicago in Yeovil, which combines US-style food and drinks alongside nostalgic and chart music.
He also said the company has compiled a list of “30 or 40” target areas, with the focus on secondary towns. Chicago Leisure was formed in June 2013 after Atmosphere Pubs & Bars went into administration.
