Brewers will get the chance to meet overseas buyers of British beer at a free event held this week.

The ‘meet the buyer’ event, being held at London’s Brewers’ Hall on Wednesday (13 August), is hosted jointly by the British Beer & Pub Association and UK Trade & Investment.

There will also be a masterclass on how to export beginning at 10am before the main session, which will bring together British brewers wishing to break into new export markets with beer importers from several major markets, such as Spain, Sweden, Brazil and China. The buyers will also visit Fuller’s and Meantime breweries.

Brigid Simmonds, BBPA chief executive, said: “This is a great opportunity. Many BBPA members are already on board, but there are still places available for other brewers for the ‘meet the buyer’ sessions.  It is also great to see the industry’s export strategy being brought to life, through an event like this. While our exports outside the EU were up 46 per cent since 2008, there are still huge opportunities for UK brewers to exploit.”

Brewers wishing to attend should register on the UKTI website .
