Marston’s chief executive, Ralph Findlay, has become the first major industry figure to take on the ice bucket challenge.

The craze sees participants drenched by icy water to raise money to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. In turn they get to nominate someone else to undertake the challenge.

Findlay was nominated to take part in the challenge by the Bull’s Head in Repton. On Wednesday morning he was soaked by Marston's managing director of Inns and Taverns, Pete Dalzell and Marston's chief financial officer, Andrew Andrea.

In turn Findlay nominated local MP Paul Uppal, PMA editor Rob Willock and Carvers Building Products, MD Henry Carver to take the challenge next.
