The doors of the St James’s Gate brewery in Dublin, which produces Guinness, have been thrown open to the cameras for the first time in the latest TV ad for the stout.

No actors feature in the new ad, instead the team of brewers and Eugene Ryan, a farmer whose family has been supplying Guinness with Irish barley for three generations, take the starring roles.

“St. James's Gate is a community of people driven by a passion for brewing and advancing the high bar set by previous brewers over two centuries ago,” said Stephen O'Kelly, marketing director for Guinness, Western Europe, at owner Diageo.

“We're proud of our past achievements and we're excited about those to come. We felt it was time to open the gates and let the world see the people who make our beer special.”

The ad is the latest instalment in the brand’s In Pursuit of More campaign, which was launched in 2012, and will be supported with an outdoor poster campaign alongside activity on social and digital media, which takes a closer look at some of the people who are featured in the ad.

Earlier this month Diageo made a move for the craft beer crowd, revealing two new beers for the brand: Guinness Dublin Porter and Guinness West Indies Porter.
