Publican's Choice Awards: The winners
Hundreds of you voted, many suppliers were praised, but only a few made the cut and can truly call themselves a Publican’s Choice 2014. The Publican’s Choice Awards are now in their fifth year and are designed to recognise the best suppliers in the trade.
Licensees from up and down the country are asked for their feedback via an online survey, in which they are invited to nominate their best suppliers and brands. All the questions are open — there’s no prompting from us, so every mention is a genuine vote of confidence from the licensee community.
We ask voters to name the suppliers they feel offer the best customer service, flexibility, product range and which will go that extra mile. When voting for the best brands we asked publicans to consider range, product quality, marketing support, price and value, as well as customer feedback.
The numbers were then crunched and, this week and next, the Publican’s Morning Advertiser will reveal the suppliers and brands with the most votes both in the magazine and on our website. Make no mistake the competition is tough, and there were several close-run categories this year, which makes winning even more of an achievement.
"Winning a Publican’s Choice Award is a real endorsement from those on the frontline of the pub trade — the licensees who have themselves voted,” said Robyn Black, drinks editor at the Publican’s Morning Advertiser.
“Hundreds took the time and effort to vote for the brands and services that they feel are the absolute best, and so all of our Publican’s Choice Award winners should be justifiably proud of what they have achieved.”
In fact, delighted winners have been busy showing off their Publican’s Choice Award certificates during the past few days, so keep an eye on Facebook, Twitter and the PMA website for a ‘selfie gallery’ of proud suppliers and brand owners. Logistics business Tradeteam has been the key partner for these awards since their inception in 2009.
