Pubco Anglian Country Inns has relaunched its coffee bar at its Hermitage Rd site in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, as a coffee, bagel bar and interiors shop.

The five-site operator, which has won Best Food Offer in the Publican Awards for the past two years, is expanding its ground-floor coffee bar with an extra 30 seats and a food focus on bagels.

Now called Hermitage Rd Coffee & Bagel Bar, the site will continue to serve the bar's own blend coffee, speciality teas and homemade food cooked by the site's chefs, including bagels to eat in or takeaway.

The extra seating capacity next door will also incorporate a retail shopping offer called 'Hermitage Road & Co’, headed by Ellene Nye, selling interior accessories including furniture, home ware, lighting and gifts.

Kevin Nobes, general manager at Hermitage Rd, said: "We aim to provide quality, great value for money food and drink 'on the go' coupled with a relaxed environment to enjoy our delicious cakes, pastries and other delights while you shop.

"It is also fabulous to see the new décor and enjoy the surroundings that Hermitage Rd & Co have bought into the expansion of our business."
