The Excalibur Dehydrator can be used to dry everything from herbs, fruits and vegetables, to meat and fish, the supplier claimed.
The machine can also be used to raise homemade bread and make creamy yogurt, Nisbets added.
Four, five and nine-tray units are available. The five and nine-tray models come with a 26-hour timer in a choice of black or white.
All units feature an adjustable thermostat with a range of 29°C to 68°C, allowing the chef to select the ideal temperature for the type of food to be dried.
Nisbets said the machine’s horizontal airflow design provides even drying conditions, which removes the need for tray restacking and produces a consistent result.
One or all the trays can also be removed to make space for larger items, such as whole fruit.
A spokesperson for Nisbets said: “There are numerous benefits to dehydrating foods. One is the health advantage of being able to preserve food without the need for sugar or preservatives.
“Dehydrating also offers the opportunity to prolong the life of fresh food and excess ingredients – perhaps those that have been used in specials, or even seasonal foods.
“These can then be stored for later use, either in dehydrated form or rehydrated.”
