Pubs’ prompt to apply for government growth vouchers

The government Growth Vouchers programme aims to help small businesses get advice on: finance and cash flow; recruiting and developing staff; improving leadership and management skills; marketing; and making the most of digital technology.
Licensees will need to complete an online application and, if they are awarded a voucher, choose an accredited adviser from an online ‘marketplace’. Vouchers are allocated randomly to qualifying small businesses, but the majority of applicants will receive them.
The vouchers are available up to a value of £2,000 and will cover 50% of the total spend — in other words, the Government will match your spend up to that amount.
Former BII Licensee of the Year and PMA ‘pub mentor’ Phil Davison, who now runs consultancy the Pub Marketing Circle, has been accredited as an adviser, and is urging pubs to sign up before the scheme ends in March.
