London Wine Fair increases its appeal to beer lovers and the on-trade

The London Wine Fair (LWF) is set to extend its beer tasting area at this year’s event (18 to 20 May), following the success of the initiative last year.

At its inaugural showing in 2014 The Brewhouse feature comprised of 22 breweries showing off their bottled brews. This year organisers of the LWF, Brintex, are aiming for 50.

There is also going to be a seminar and event area dedicated to all things beer-related called, The Hopsack, both of which will be curated by beer sommelier Sophie Atherton.

Other new features at the trade show will include The View, an invitation-only tasting area for top-end wines aimed at sommeliers; Wines Unearthed, a new section for wineries seeking UK representation, and Wine Grapes, described as an, “annual celebration of two grape varieties,” this year Syrah and Grüner Veltliner.

Last year’s revamped London Wine Fair attracted more on-trade visitors than ever before, with delegates from the sector making up a quarter of visitors.
