Operators breaking into brunch for summer

Brunning & Price, The Restaurant Group (TRG)-owned pub business, has launched its first brunch menu across its 50-strong estate.

The menu is served from 9am to 11:30am on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Dishes include scrambled eggs with Scottish smoked salmon and capers served on toasted granary bread £7.50; Eggs Benedict with honey roast ham, soft poached egg and Hollandaise sauce £6.95; Bubble and squeak served with Bury black pudding, duck egg (poached or fried) and Branston pickle £6.95 and Full English; Buttercross Farm pork sausages, Bury black pudding, cured English bacon, Golden Hill Farm eggs (served poached or fried), sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomato and toast £8.95

At the same time, TRG has lined up The Bailiwick in Englefield Green, Surrey for its next conversion from its Home Counties estate to Brunning & Price.

Mexican brunch

Meanwhile, South West London bar and restaurant El Patron has introduced new Mexican brunch parties, starting from 23 May.

A build-your-own breakfast burrito menu will be on offer alongside "bottomless" José Cuervo margaritas and tortilla chips served with a selection of dips.

Customers will be able to choose from several burrito fillings such as guacamole, bacon, salsa verde, fried egg, pinto beans and gooey cheese.

Sugar sprinkled chocolate churros with warm chocolate thought will also be available for dessert.

Entry to the brunch parties costs £25 per head.
