The Ribs Of Beef pub golf team from Norwich is celebrating after becoming the latest team to qualify for the grand final of the Licensed Trade Charity 2015 golf tournament.

They emerged triumphant from the Norfolk heat held at Weston Park Golf Club last week, defeating 17 other competing teams.

Team captain Roger Cawdron, former Chairman of the Norwich and Norfolk Licensed Victuallers Association, was joined by Jim Clark, Lenny Deathridge and Carl Foster to improve on last year’s second place.

Cawdron said: “We are delighted as we really didn’t expect to win – my main reason for playing is to support the Licensed Trade Charity as I have been a licensee for 52 years”.

Their prizes included new golf bags provided by event supporter Sidney Phillips, which they will be able to show off at the Sky-sponsored tournament final at Archerfield Links golf course in North Berwick on 21 October.

There is still time to book your place in the grand final by winning one of the remaining LTC heats in Somerset, Oxfordshire, Herefordshire or Devon.
