The wholesaler’s range now includes frozen cod, plaice and haddock fillets, gilled and gutted sea bass, sea bream, anchovies and rainbow trout.
Prior to this JJ Food Service released a fish and chip promotional brochure.
Ali Guvemli, chief product officer at JJ Food Service, said: “We distributed the brochure in March and in just two months, frozen fish sales have risen significantly.
“It’s clear that a greater diversity of caterers are starting to trust frozen fish – we have responded by improving choice while maintaining competitive prices.”
To accompany the range, JJ Food Service has also increased its range of branded condiments, which includes Heinz SqueezeMe sauce sachets, back-of-house tubs and front-of-house Heinz Squeezy table sauces.
More fish products are planned to be added to the range over the next few months.
Nisbets has launched new easy-peel Vogue Allergen labels aimed at helping operators keep in compliance with recent EU allergen legislation.
The labels include allergens such as milk, eggs and peanuts as well as lesser known ones such as molluscs and soya beans.
The one inch labels come in packs of 1000 and are designed to leave no residue on products.
To accompany the labels, Nisbets has launched food allergy table notices, which can be displayed on tables or at the bar to remind customers to ask about potential allergens in the food.
