Demolished pub
Public inquiry to be launched for demolished pub

The pub was demolished in April without planning permission, causing Westminster council to take the unprecedented step that it be rebuilt ‘brick by brick.’
Councillor Robert Davis, deputy leader of Westminster City Council said: “This is just one step – but a major one – in getting this pub rebuilt brick by brick. We asked for a public inquiry and we are delighted that we have been listened to.
“Our residents have made it very clear that they want this pub to return to its former glory, and we will not rest until all avenues have been explored to make sure it happens.”
The developers are fighting the enforcement notice that orders that the pub must be rebuilt, arguing that they were not aware that they should have sought permission before destroying the building, and that the pub no longer met the needs of the local community.
