Thompson has worked for a number of years across the drinks industry, launching Red Bull and Sol at Ubevco before moving to Bulmers and Heineken, working in a number of regional and national sales roles.
He has also worked at a soft drinks start up company, giving him first-hand experience of a smaller, entrepreneurial business similar to Hogs Back.
Thompson said “Working in the drinks industry – and living just minutes from the brewery in Farnham – I was aware of Hogs Back and impressed by both the quality of their established ales such as TEA and their more recent product innovation, particularly Hogstar English Lager, Montezuma’s Chocolate Lager and Hazy Hog Cider.
“These non-traditional beers, and other developments such as the hop garden, set Hogs Back apart from other brewers of similar size. The brands, and the business, have huge potential and I’m confident I can help them to realise it over the next few years.”
Hogs Back Brewery managing director Rupert Thompson said: “We’re delighted Gordon is joining us. He brings with him a wealth of experience and an evident passion for beer and cider that will help us to take the Hogs Back range to a wider audience.
