However, no pubs were amongst the 15 new one-star and two new two-star ratings given out.
Earlier today, four pubs - Tom Kerridge's the Coach, Marlow, the Dunsforth, Yorkshire, the White Swan, Lancashire and the Chadwicks Inn, Middlesborough - were awarded with Bib Gourmands, which signify a high quality food offer for a reasonable price.
Ed Bedington, PMA editor said: "Congratulations to all the pubs who won Bib Gourmands. It's yet another indication of the phenomenal standard of pub dining that can be achieved these days."
He added: "It's a shame there were no new pubs in this year's list of star achievers, but it's not the end of the world - let's not forget the impressive amount of pubs that already have them and the fantastic work being done in pub kitchens all across the sector."
Before announcing the stars for 2016, the Michelin Guide UK tweeted: “Let down once again by a bookshop here are the new #MichelinStars2016”
