Berkshire's the Royal Oak prides itself on "British food, cooked to perfection". As well as featuring on Top 50 Gastropubs, it has held a Michelin star since 2010, been awarded three AA rosettes for culinary excellence and attained a Good Food Guide rating of 6/10.
Head chef Michael Chapman said: "My aim is that each customer who dines at the Royal Oak has the opportunity to embrace the satisfying flavours and visual innovation of each dish... they have not been compromised by unnecessary ingredients."
Sample dishes: Cornish brown crab Raviolo with shaved fennel, samphire and shellfish broth, Iberico pork chop with chargrilled baby artichokes, braised shallots and radish and English cherry mousse with milk chocolate brownie and cherry sorbet.
