Gastropub Chef of the Year: John Calton
John Calton of the Staith House in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, entered the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list for the first time this year at number 31.
He's dramatically raised his profile in the industry and upon giving him the prize, which is sponsored by Nestlé Chef, Tom Kerridge said we should expect to see much more of Calton in the future.
